The Hammer- The AMG E63 gets a rebirth

In recent years, Mercedes has produced a line of AMG performance models that have been spectacular. And it all started with the 500E, affectionately known as the Hammer. The 500E was produced from 1991 to 1994 and kick-started the idea of a performance-tuned, factory-built version of Mercedes' midsize sedan.

At the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, debuted the next in the line of their AMG family, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63. It is the first model to get this particular version of AMG's 4.0-liter V8, featuring a twin-scroll turbocharger in place of the single-scroll unit found in the AMG GT. The AMG E63 puts out a staggering 563 horsepower with 553 pounds-foot torque.

The 2018 E63 is also the first AMG with its new nine-speed Speedshift MCT transmission, while its sport-tuned adaptive suspension now has air chambers at all four wheels. Another pioneering element is AMG's new 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system.  4Matic+ adds a new Race mode in the E63S that decouples the front axle completely. Besides its new, hooligan Race function, 4Matic+ also gains a fully variable torque split. Whereas the current 4Matic system defaults to a 33-percent front, 67-percent rear torque split, this can constantly vary itself based on traction and drive mode.

The launch of the new 2018 E63 showed off the optional carbon-ceramic brakes, upgraded AMG performance seats, the exterior Night package that adds glass black trim to various areas that would normally be gloss silver or chrome, special yellow interior stitching and Designo matte black paint,

The Mercedes AMG E63 will arrive in showrooms in the summer of 2017. Until then check out our other fine Mercedes vehicles and contact us to schedule your test drive today.

Coolest Golf Cart Ever

When you want to make the coolest golf cart ever who do you go to? The leader in luxury, that’s who, Mercedes-Benz.

Back in 2013, German automaker Mercedes-Benz invited fans to submit their designs for “coolest golf cart ever.” And what they got back, were some innovative and inspired designs.

The Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car is a “real sports car” that transfers the look of Mercedes car design into the sensual purity of a premium golf cart. It’s sporty and well balanced, with large stylish wheels for a smooth ride. The golfers look through a curved glass wind shield, under a carbon fiber roof. Adding to the sportiness is the rear carbon fiber spoiler that sits above the compartment for two slanted sitting golf bags.

The Garia Golf cart is perfectly networked from tee to green. It has an integrated 10 inch touchscreen that covers everything from layout of the course to current position to electronic score card. The Garia also has two driving modes sport and eco, and the headlamps, windshield heater and wipers are all controlled by the touchscreen. It also has turn signals and brake lights which are needed if you happen to take it out on a road.

The electric motor puts out three kilowatts, this is enough to make it go over 18mph with a 50 mile distance per charge. The lithium-ion battery takes 6 hours for a full charge. And underneath the bench, they put a refrigerator. Yes, a refrigerator.

Only two concept carts have been made but, if there are enough potential buyers, the Mercedes-Benz Style cart could go into full production.  You can check it out for yourself at the Mercedes-Benz website. 9 safety tricks the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class can do all by itself

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is helping pull the future closer. Call it autonomous driving, piloted driving, or assisted driving: The automobile is gradually taking over some of the chore of driving, and doing it with safety in mind.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes equipped with rafts of sensors, cameras, and algorithms that form a new safety net of features. These features are on call whenever needed, essentially running as an application in the E-Class' background. The E-Class has been tested with its piloted-driving hardware and software over the course of hundreds of miles. These are the most important pieces of new technology baked into the new sedan--and they make up a big piece of the future of the automobile, even though they're on the road today.

Here are 9 Safety tricks that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class can do all by itself to protect you.

·         It can steer, accelerate, and brake for itself.
The E-Class combines data from anti-lock brakes, adaptive cruise control, electronic power steering, in-car cameras, and radar sensors, to allow it to cruise largely without intervention. The E-Class still requires a driver to be present, and the driver must hold the steering wheel every 15 to 20 seconds; otherwise, the car will slow itself, flip on its hazard lights, and eventually come to a stop.

·         It can play a sound to warn you of a crash.
When the E-Class senses an imminent accident, it plays a sound that can trigger a heightened human response, whether it's a reflexive move on the steering or brakes, or just a warning to take back the controls.
·         It pushes you out of harm's way.
The E-Class' side airbags include a function that inflates the door-side front airbag about 3 inches during an accident, which can push the passenger further from the point of impact.
·         It can park itself and unpark itself.
While the E-Class comes with a high-resolution set of surround-view cameras, it's not always easy to park in snug spots. With a smartphone app, the E-Class can park itself in parallel or perpendicular spots, using the car's control over steering, throttle, brakes, and information from its cameras and sensors.
·         It can change lanes, or help you do so.
Using its electric steering, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist, the E-Class will change lanes by itself once the turn signal has been activated for 2 seconds.
·         It can stop you from hitting a car crossing an intersection.
It can apply the brakes if it detects a vehicle crossing the lanes ahead in oncoming traffic.
·         It can help you steer away from an accident.
It can amplify steering inputs when it senses its driver is making evasive maneuvers.
·         It can alert you when you're drowsy. Attention Assist lights up a coffee cup on the gauges when steering movements indicate you're driving drowsy. If you're not hooked on the bean, Mountain Dew's an acceptable substitute.
·         It will be able to talk to other cars, to avoid each other.
Soon, the new E-Class will host car-to-X hardware that will emit and receives data about its surroundings. One day in the future, when those emitters are more common, a data network devoted to real-time accident prevention will start to form.

I hope these tips help you make your decision on purchasing a Mercedes-Benz E-Class! Check out our inventory of E-Class and contact us today to drive yours home!
