Picking up Luxury with the Mercedes X-Class

Mercedes-Benz has been the face of luxury for years. They have been producing their high quality automobiles for over a hundred years. Their luxury cars and SUVs have always been the top in their class, and now they are entering uncharted territory and are poised to take over the truck world with their Luxury Pickup Truck concept the X-Class.

The Mercedes-Benz X-Class is going to be their first time making a pickup truck in the luxury car world. The X-Class will have 2 styles the Powerful Adventurer and the Stylish Explorer. The Adventurer is designed for off-road use with its extra protection features and higher ride height. While the Explorer is more refined in terms of exterior appearance, but the 2 styles will basically have the same features. They will both be equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine and will have full time all-wheel-drive.

The X-Class is slated for release in late 2017, however, it is currently not going to be released in the States. The X-Class is going to start in the markets of Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America. Based on the sales in those countries, Mercedes will then make the decision whether or not to release the X-Class stateside.

The X-Class is the latest product in the industrial alliance between Mercedes and Nissan. As the X-Class will be built by the parent company of Nissan, Renault-Nissan, They will use Nissan factories in Spain and Renault in Argentina to build the X-Class. An estimated 1 billion euros will be invested in the X-Class from the time of concept until production to get the X-Class on the road.
